Margaret F. Murphy is a partner and member of the Corporate and Securities Section of the law firm of Jones, Walker, Waechter, Poitevent, Carrère & Denègre, LLP, based in New Orleans, Louisiana. Ms. Murphy’s transactional practice is concentrated in the areas of executive compensation, including all types of stock option, restricted stock and stock purchase plans, bonus plans, and employment and change of control agreements. She also focuses her practice on the securities laws applicable to stock-based compensation, the securities law obligations of officers and directors of public companies, particularly in the areas of short-swing trading and insider trading liability, and the SEC reporting obligations of officers, directors, and major shareholders.

Ms. Murphy earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Dayton and her law degree from Loyola University of New Orleans. She is admitted to the bar of Louisiana.
